Matthew Reeve - Voice Consultant

Lessons

Matthew is available to teach singing and voice privately, either at his studio in Milton Keynes or in London. Lessons will be tailored to your specific needs, which may include technique, repertoire or finding suitable audition material. He is at home with musical theatre, popular and rock styles and is happy to advise and troubleshoot for other genres. Voice lessons can explore Standard English, voice quality and vocal projection. Matthew has a special interest in healthy vocal function, phonetics and voice rehabilitation.

Matthew is an experienced Certified Course Instructor for Estill International. Please contact him if you would like to study Level One or Level Two privately or pursue Estill Certification. Regular public courses and workshops are organised throughout Europe through Reeve & Møller - Professional Voice Consultancy.

Please read the following if you are thinking of arranging a private consultation with Matthew.

Matthew only teaches singing to adults who are intermediate to advanced level singers, or professional voice users who are serious about developing their careers. Voice lessons are suitable for actors and also for those who want to improve the quality of their voice in the business environment. He only has a small number of private lesson slots available. Lessons are usually booked one session at a time—as a general rule there are no 'regular slots'.

Matthew does not normally take on students from the following groups.

  • Children (under the age of 16) except in exceptional circumstances.
  • Hobby singers.
  • Singers and speakers who want to prepare for graded exams (ABRSM, LAMDA and so on).

If you feel Matthew could help you and want to enquire about private lessons, please make the initial contact via email to Matthew at matthew@reeve.name. If the decision is made to go ahead, your first session will be an introductory and analysis lesson to help determine whether or not Matthew is the right teacher for you. After this session there will be no obligation for either party to continue with lessons. If the decision is made to continue with further lessons then the following points become relevant.

  • Students must accept responsibility for their own vocal development and career.
  • Matthew's other work (workshops, lectures, theatre coaching and so on) may occasionally impact the scheduling of private lessons. Matthew will always inform you in advance and reschedule the lesson as soon as possible.
  • Students must give a minimum of 24 hours' notice should they need cancel a lesson. Giving less than 24 hours' notice will mean the full cost of that lesson will be charged. Additionally, if a student forgets a scheduled lesson or is late (regardless of reason, including illness) the full cost of the lesson will still be charged.
